PE Film Shrink Wrapping Machine Industry knowledge

We are Shanghai KUKO Packing Machinery Co., Ltd., a PE Film Shrink Wrapping Machine manufacturer and integrated packaging line builder based in Shanghai, China. Since 2004, we have designed and built automatic heat shrink packaging equipment for food, beverage, daily chemicals, electronics, pharmaceuticals, logistics, home and building materials, and renewable energy production lines. Our PE film shrink wrapping machines are configured around the customer's working point: product size, line speed, film specification and the interface to upstream and downstream equipment.

This PE line is part of our wider Shrink Wrapping Machine range, which also includes POF film heat shrink machines, PVC/PET label shrink tunnels, fully-closed sealing/shrink machines, sleeve sealers and pallet wrapping equipment. All are engineered for continuous industrial operation, can be connected to MES systems, and are supported by our Shanghai and Kunshan production bases.

Our PE Film Shrink Wrapping Machine Range

We currently produce three PE heat shrink packaging models in this category. Each one is configured for a different product shape, tunnel volume and line speed:

Model Configuration Application Fit
SF-5030E Short-cavity double-circulation heat shrink packaging machine Compact cartons, bottles, cans, jars and multi-packs that need even heat distribution over a shorter tunnel.
SF-6050E Extended, widened and heightened heat shrink packaging machine Larger cartons, tall profiles, bulky grouped packs and products that need more heated tunnel volume.
SF-10040E Extra-wide 1000 mm heat shrink packaging machine Wide trays, long panels, flat profiles and multi-row product groups that cannot pass through standard-width tunnels.

These models are built on our standard manufacturing platform: welded tunnel construction, adjustable hot-air circulation, variable-speed conveyor and PLC-based temperature control. We do not treat them as fixed catalog units. The tunnel length, heating capacity, conveyor width and film path are matched to the product, film and target output.

PE Film Process and Material Fit

PE shrink film is specified when the package needs toughness, puncture resistance and higher shrink force. It is commonly used for beverage multipacks, household chemical containers, pharmaceutical cartons, logistics shipments and building material products where the package must survive stacking, vibration and repeated handling.

  • Vent holes: Most PE shrink wrapping applications need venting in the film to release trapped air. The number, size and position of the holes affect swelling, wrinkles and corner behavior.
  • Heat exposure: Too much heat causes hazing, excessive shrink tension or film burn-through; too little causes incomplete shrink, fish-tails and loose corners. Tunnel temperature, fan circulation and belt speed must be set together.
  • Film data: For a clean proposal, we need the PE film width, thickness, roll diameter and whether it is flat or center-folded. The film path, sealing jaws and tunnel settings are designed around these values.
  • Retail clarity: PE film is less glossy and less transparent than POF. If appearance on the shelf is the priority, our POF Film Shrink Wrapping Machine range is usually the better fit.

Configuration, Controls and Line Integration

A PE film shrink wrapping machine is normally part of a longer packaging line. The product must be spaced, centered, sometimes sealed before entering the tunnel, and then delivered to a downstream case packer or palletizer. We supply the shrink wrapping machine as a complete working unit and can engineer the surrounding conveyor and control interfaces.

  • Infeed and conveying: Adjustable side guides, product spacing and belt speed matching are configured to prevent product drift before the film is applied.
  • Sealing arrangement: Depending on the package, the line uses a cross-sealer, L-bar sealer, side sealer or sleeve sealing station. The sealing method determines how the film is formed around the product before shrinkage.
  • Control system: PLC and HMI set the tunnel temperature, fan circulation, conveyor speed and alarm thresholds. The machine can be linked to MES for production data and line status.
  • Non-standard layouts: When floor space or upstream equipment forces an L-shape, U-shape or multi-line infeed, we design the conveyor and machine layout to fit the existing line.
  • Related equipment: The same heated-tunnel principles are used in our PVC/PET Film Label Shrink Tunnel range for container labeling lines.

Manufacturing and Quality Assurance

KUKO operates two production bases in Kunshan Zhouzhuang Industrial Park and Shanghai Sheshan Industrial Park, with 34,000 square meters of workshop area. Sheet metal processing uses German IPG laser cutting machines and imported high-accuracy servo bending machines, so enclosures, tunnel bodies and conveyor frames are produced to consistent dimensional standards.

  • Within the wider KUKO catalogue, we offer over 200 models across low-, medium- and high-speed series; the PE range is one of the focused product families.
  • Machines are engineered for 24/7 stable continuous operation, with modular assembly and standardized commissioning.
  • We hold ISO9001 and CE certification and are recognized as a Shanghai High-Tech Enterprise and a Specialized and Sophisticated Enterprise.
  • Our equipment is installed in more than 160 markets worldwide, with service support built around a one-year warranty and life-cycle maintenance.

Information We Use to Configure Your Solution

Send us the working point and we will prepare a proposal with the correct machine configuration, conveying interface and automation scope. The following data matters most:

  • Product dimensions, weight, shape, stability and orientation on the conveyor.
  • Line speed target in packs per minute and number of shifts.
  • PE film type, width, thickness, roll diameter and whether flat or center-folded.
  • Existing upstream/downstream equipment, conveyor height and available floor space.
  • Utility supply: voltage, frequency and availability of compressed air.
  • MES, barcode scanning, coding or reject requirements.
  • Sample products or dimension drawings for tunnel length and sealing layout.

Proposal, Acceptance and Service

Every KUKO proposal is prepared around the working point, material and production target. We define the tunnel length, heating capacity, conveyor width, sealing method and automation interface based on your product dimensions and speed target, not a generic capacity chart.

Our project scope covers factory testing, operation and maintenance documentation, spare parts lists and life-cycle maintenance support. All equipment is supplied with a one-year free warranty. The proposal defines the delivery, installation and acceptance scope for your site, so the machine arrives with clear performance expectations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between PE film and POF film shrink wrapping?

PE film is tougher and provides higher shrink force, so it is preferred for transport packaging, multipacks and products with sharp edges. POF film gives clearer, more retail-friendly packages and shrinks at lower temperatures. We manufacture both ranges; the right choice depends on whether packaging strength or appearance is the priority.

Which machine handles large or wide products?

The SF-6050E extended, widened and heightened machine handles larger cartons and tall profiles. The SF-10040E extra-wide 1000 mm machine is for wide trays, long panels and multi-row groups. Provide dimensions and we will select the tunnel volume and conveyor width in the proposal.

Can the machine be integrated into an existing conveyor line and MES?

Yes. We configure infeed, outfeed and control interfaces for existing lines, including non-standard L-shape or U-shape layouts. The machine can communicate with MES for production data and line status; the exact protocol is agreed during engineering.

What PE film information should we supply with an inquiry?

Film type, flat or center-folded, width, thickness, roll diameter and whether vent holes are possible. Also send product dimensions, pack weight and line speed. This lets us define the sealing jaws, tunnel settings and conveyor speed.

What after-sales support is included?

All KUKO equipment is covered by a one-year free warranty and life-cycle maintenance support. We supply documentation and spare parts support as part of the project. The proposal defines the exact delivery, acceptance and support scope for your location.
