Shrink Wrapping Machine Industry knowledge

Dedicated Shrink Wrapping Machine Manufacturer Based in Shanghai

Shanghai KUKO Packing Machinery Co., Ltd. is a Shrink Wrapping Machine manufacturer founded in 2004 and headquartered in Sheshan Town, Songjiang District, Shanghai. We develop and produce fully automatic sleeve labeling and heat shrink packaging equipment across low-, medium- and high-speed series, with more than 200 models in our range. Our machines are engineered for 24/7 continuous operation, support MES system integration, and currently serve partners in over 160 countries.

Production is vertically integrated across two plants — Kunshan Zhouzhuang Industrial Park and Shanghai Sheshan Industrial Park — with a combined workshop area of 34,000 m². German IPG high-precision laser cutters and imported high-accuracy servo bending machines perform the sheet metal processing in-house, followed by welding, assembly and functional testing. That control over the manufacturing chain allows us to stabilize delivery schedules and accept non-standard conveyor layouts without external fabrication bottlenecks.

Our Shrink Wrapping Machine Range

The category is organized by film type, because the film determines the tunnel temperature, hot-air circulation and conveyor speed of each machine family.

Machine Family Film Material Typical Applications Output Profile
POF Film Shrink Wrapping Machine POF Food trays, cosmetics, gift boxes, retail multipacks Clear glossy finish, low shrink temperature, high transparency
PE Film Shrink Wrapping Machine PE Bottle multipacks, cans, building materials, large cartons Tough seal, high shrink force, tear resistance
PVC/PET Film Label Shrink Tunnel PVC / PET Bottles, jars, beverage containers, tamper-evident bands Contour-hugging label shrink on round and shaped containers

Within the PE line we supply the SF-5030E short-cavity double-circulation heat shrink packaging machine, the SF-6050E extended, widened and heightened model, and the SF-10040E extra-wide 1000 mm machine. The POF line includes the long-service-life SF-4525 and the premium SF-5030LG. For sleeve labeling, the label shrink range offers the SF-1230 with conveyor line, without conveyor line, and in a compact base layout.

Application Fit by Industry

We supply shrink wrapping equipment for food, daily chemicals, electronics, logistics, pharmaceuticals and furniture. Each sector brings different constraints to the process:

  • Food and beverage — hygiene, sealing integrity and shelf-ready visual quality for trays, multipacks and bottle bundles.
  • Pharmaceutical and healthcare — cleanable construction, stable process parameters and consistent seal integrity.
  • Electronics and 3C — protection against dust, vibration and static for precision instruments and finished devices.
  • Daily chemicals — round, square and irregular bottles plus gift-set grouping with tight film presentation.
  • Home and building materials — wide panels, profiles and pipes that require large tunnel apertures and tough film.
  • Logistics and express — carton stabilization and unitizing for stacking and long-distance transit.

Film Selection and Tunnel Parameters

POF shrinks at lower temperature and delivers a glossy, transparent package suited to retail display. PE delivers higher toughness and holding force, which is why it is standard for heavy bundled goods such as water bottles, cans and long building products. PVC/PET sleeve labels require even hot-air distribution so the film follows the container contour without wrinkling or distortion.

Heating power, air-circulation pattern, conveyor speed and cooling section are all set according to the declared film grade, thickness and product heat sensitivity. For heat-sensitive items we calculate the residence time inside the tunnel and, when necessary, recommend thinner film or lower-temperature material grades.

Configuration, Accuracy and Throughput

Every configuration starts from the working point: product dimensions and weight, bundles per minute, film width, and the layout of upstream and downstream equipment. From there we define the tunnel aperture, conveyor speed range, heating power and the sealing interface when the shrink machine is paired with our automatic or semi-automatic sealing machines.

Performance control focuses on four variables:

  • Conveyor speed stability to avoid film bunching or tearing
  • Uniform hot-air circulation to prevent fish eyes, dog ears and hazing
  • Consistent temperature control across the tunnel cross-section
  • Synchronized infeed and outfeed with existing line conveyors

Our documented troubleshooting guidance covers the defects operators encounter most — trapped air, weak seals, fish-eye wrinkles, fishtail pleats, dog ears and misaligned sealing positions — with the corrective parameters we provide during commissioning.

Controls, Automation and Line Integration

All machines are designed for MES system integration so production data can flow from the shrink wrapping equipment into plant information systems. For continuous lines, we combine the shrink tunnel with side sealers, L-bar sealers, sleeve sealers and conveyors, and extend the solution to pallet wrapping where unitized output is required.

The supply scope includes the control interfaces between machines, conveyor height and direction, photoelectric trigger points and the safety interlocks required for tandem operation. When a shrink wrapper is added to a line that already runs filling, labeling or carton equipment, we adapt the machine interface rather than requiring the line to be re-engineered.

Quality Assurance and Acceptance

Our quality system is ISO9001 certified and our equipment carries EU CE certification, supported by recognition as a Shanghai High-Tech Enterprise and a “Specialized and Sophisticated” Enterprise. We manufacture using numerous invention and utility model patents, and every machine is assembled and functionally tested in our own facilities before shipment. Customers include P&G, Johnson & Johnson, L'Oréal, JD.com, SF Express, CATL and Mars Group.

Each machine is covered by a one-year warranty and lifetime maintenance support. We supply the acceptance test records, parameter tables, spare parts lists and adjustment procedures that keep the tunnel operating at the original performance level.

Information We Use to Configure Your Solution

We prepare each proposal and technical layout from the following project inputs:

  • Product dimensions (L x W x H), weight and units per bundle
  • Film type, thickness and roll width, or samples for a trial
  • Required production speed in packs or bundles per minute
  • Available floor space, conveyor height and line direction
  • Upstream and downstream equipment interfaces
  • Power supply: voltage, frequency and phase
  • MES/SCADA connectivity and reporting requirements
  • Export packaging and destination-country compliance needs

Shrink Wrapping Machine FAQ

Which film family should we use for retail multipacks?

For retail trays, cosmetic sets and gift boxes, POF gives the clearest, most transparent finish at a lower shrink temperature. For heavy or overwrapped multipacks such as water bottles and canned goods, PE offers higher shrink force and puncture resistance. Send us the product dimensions and bundle configuration and we will match the film to the package.

Can you integrate the shrink wrapper into our existing line?

Yes. We configure the infeed, conveyor height, tunnel direction and control interface around your existing machinery. Where custom conveyors or sealing equipment are needed, we supply them as part of the same project so that the total line operates as one system.

What data do you need for a quotation?

At minimum we need product dimensions, bundle size, film type and speed target. The more complete the line layout and power supply details are, the closer the first proposal will be to the final installed machine.

Do your shrink wrapping machines support MES connectivity?

Yes. Our machines are engineered for MES system integration and can exchange production data with plant information systems. The communication interface and data points are defined during configuration, so MES readiness is part of the supply rather than an aftermarket retrofit.

How is commissioning and after-sales support handled?

Each machine is assembled and tested at our factory before shipment. We support commissioning at your site or via remote guidance, and the lifetime maintenance service covers film defect adjustments, spare parts supply and operator training.
